On Containment for Linear Systems With Switching Topologies: A Novel State Transition Matrix Perspective

IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, 2020
This article studies the containment control problem for a group of linear systems, consisting of more than one leader, over switching topologies. The input matrices of these linear systems are not required to have full-row rank and the switching can be ...

Learning Fuzzy Automaton’s Event Transition Matrix When Post-Event State Is Unknown

IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, 2020
Compared to other system modeling techniques, the fuzzy discrete event systems (FDESs) methodology has the unique capability of modeling a class of event-driven systems as fuzzy automata with ambiguous state and event-invoked state transition.

State and covariance extrapolation from the state transition matrix

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1971
A computational method is proposed for evaluating the function Φ(T)=eATfor a constant n×n matrix A, using only n-2 matrix multiplications, and also for computing the related integral V(t) = ∫ 0 tΦ(τ)QΦ'(τ)dτ by a recurrence relation.

On the evaluation of the state transition matrix

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1969
The relation between the matrix corresponding to the Wronskian and the state transition matrix has been utilized to obtain a closed form of the latter in terms of roots of the-characteristic equation. The method is applicable to linear stationary systems with distinct roots.

Efficient calculation of the discrete state transition matrix

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1979
A simple direct numerical procedure is shown for the evaluation of the discrete state transition matrix of linear time-invariant systems with a prescribed accuracy. The procedure uses a power-series expansion and checks the accuracy of the elements of the truncated series in the course of computation by using a relative error criterion.

Original Disturbance Decoupling of Singular Boolean Networks: A Reduced State Transition Matrix-Based Method

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems
Disturbance decoupling is one of the fundamental problems in control systems. This article addresses the original disturbance decoupling problem of singular Boolean networks (SBNs) from a new point of view.

Formal semantics of extended hierarchical state transition matrix by CSP

ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 2012
The Extended Hierarchical State Transition Matrix (EHSTM) is a table-based modeling language frequently used in industry for specifying behaviors of a system. However, assuring correctness, i.e., having a design satisfy certain desired properties, is a non-trivial task.

Analysis of SCR Circuits Via Augmented State Transition Matrix

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1977
Abstract A method for determining the value of the forced response, free motion, mean value and harmonic coefficients of a linear timeinvariant dynamic system with canonical input is proposed. This method consists in the numerical computation of a particular augmented state system. When the input variable is canonical and periodic, the initial state
