Quantum Phase Transitions in Matrix Product States

Chinese Physics Letters, 2008
We present a new general and much simpler scheme to construct various quantum phase transitions (QPTs) in spin chain systems with matrix product ground states. By use of the scheme we take into account one kind of matrix product state (MPS) QPT and provide a concrete model.

State-space discrete systems: Computation of the transition matrix

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1980
A correction is given to an algorithm for the computation of the state-transition matrix, presented in a paper by Roesser [1].

An analytical state transition matrix for an orbit perturbed by oblateness

14th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1976
A new analytical state transition matrix is presented. This transition matrix contains the two-body terms and the secular and short periodic terms due to the J2 oblateness perturbation. The matrix is derived from a satellite theory which uses a set of 8 canonical elements with the true anomaly as the independent variable. This theory was chosen because

Transient response evaluation from the state transition matrix

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1969
A novel method for obtaining the transient response of a linear time-invariant system is presented. The main advantages of this method are that it eliminates the evaluation of the eigenvalues and also involves a minimal number of numerical steps. The method is illustrated by a specific example.

Elimination of zero‐input limit cycles by bounding the state transition matrix

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 1979
AbstractA method of eliminating zero‐input granularity limit cycles in digital filters using the state transition matrix is presented. Further, for a particular class of digital filters, it is shown that bounding the transition matrix is sufficient to eliminate limit cycles of length n > 1.

An SMT Approach to Bounded Model Checking of Design in State Transition Matrix

2010 International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications, 2010
State Transition Matrix (STM) is a table-based modeling language that has been frequently used in industry for specifying behavior of distributed systems. Functional correctness of a STM design (i.e., a design written in STM) could usually be expressed as invariant properties.

Testing transition probability matrix of a multi-state model with censored data

Lifetime Data Analysis, 2007
In this paper, we develop procedures to test hypotheses concerning transition probability matrices arising from certain nonhomogeneous Markov processes. It is assumed that the data consist of sample paths, some of which are observed until a certain terminal state, and the other paths are censored.

A Matrix Regression Model for the Transition Probabilities in a Finite State Stochastic Process

Applied Statistics, 1990
In psychology, the free-recall experiment is used to investigate the organization of items in memory. A model is introduced to describe the ordinal features of the responses to this experiment. This is essentially a model of the transition probabilities in a finite state stochastic process in discrete time.
