Structural response of concrete-filled elliptical steel hollow sections under eccentric compression [PDF]
The purpose of this research is to examine the behaviour of elliptical concrete-filled steel tubular stub columns under a combination of axial force and bending moment. Most of the research carried out to date involving concrete-filled steel sections has

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

STATIC BENDING STRENGTH OF SANDWICH COMPOSITE PLATES WITH TETRACHIRAL HONEYCOMBS
The article presents a numerical strength analysis of sandwich plates with solid face layers and tetrachiral honeycomb core layer under static bending conditions. An aluminum alloy was chosen as the material of plates. For honeycomb core layers, the discretization (number of unit cells) and the relative density were varied with a constant thickness ...

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
