Design, Assembly, and Simulation of Flexure-Based Modular Micro-Positioning Stages
With flexure-based micro-positioning stages (MPSs) being in high demand for high-precision applications, the performance and cost of flexure-based MPSs are two issues that urgently need to be addressed.

A Compact 2-DOF Piezoelectric-Driven Platform Based on “Z-Shaped” Flexure Hinges
A compact 2-DOF (two degrees of freedom) piezoelectric-driven platform for 3D cellular bio-assembly systems has been proposed based on “Z-shaped” flexure hinges. Multiple linear motions with high resolution both in x and y directions are achieved. The “Z-

Design and Analysis of a Novel Flexure-Based XY Micropositioning Stage
Flexure-based micropositioning stages with high positioning precision are really attractive. This paper reports the design and analysis processes of a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) flexure-based XY micropositioning stage driven by piezoelectric actuators

Improving Support Stiffness of Flexure Mechanisms by Statically Balancing [PDF]
Static balance eliminates the actuation stiffness of flexure mechanisms and thereby reduces the motor effort and unwanted heat production. However, this typically comes at the cost of lowered support stiffness and stroke. This paper aims to show that the maximum stresses in the flexures may be reduced as well by static balance.

Static Balance of a Flexure-Based Four-Bar Mechanism: Less Torque with More Preload [PDF]
Static balance eliminates the inherent actuation stiffness of flexure-based mechanisms. In this paper we investigate how, and under which conditions, preloading in the joints can approximately balance a flexure-based four-bar mechanism.

A two-fingered robot gripper with variable stiffness flexure hinges based on shape morphing [PDF]
This paper presents a novel approach for developing robotic grippers with variable stiffness hinges for dexterous grasps. This approach for the first time uses pneumatically actuated pouch actuators to fold and unfold morphable flaps of flexure hinges ...

Dynamic and Static Flexural Rigidity of Fabric.
The relationship between the dynamic and static flexural rigidities of fabrics was discussed. The dynamic rigidity was measured by a vibrating-reed method, and the static one by a KES pure bending test. The static flexural rigidity was found to be several times as large as the dynamic one.
