Analysis of student argumentation skills on static fluid topics

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE AND APPLIED SCIENCE (ICSAS) 2019, 2019
Argumentation skills can be seen from the activities of students when thinking about working on the questions so that ideas can be analyzed through writing. This study aims to an analysis of student argumentation skills on the static fluid topic.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Oscillating and Static Universes from a Single Barotropic Fluid

open access: yes, 2015
We consider cosmological solutions to general relativity with a single barotropic fluid, where the pressure is a general function of the density, $p = f(\rho)$.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Development of four-tier diagnostic test (FTDT) to identify student’s mental models on static fluid

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Four-Tier diagnostic test on some previous studies are usually used to diagnose misconceptions and conceptual change. In this study, the four-tier diagnostic test (FTDT) has been used to identify students’ mental models on static fluid.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Numerical simulation of granular mixing in static mixers with different geometries

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
A static mixer is a fidelity engineered device for the continuous mixing of fluid/solid materials. To meet the requirements for mixing purpose, a proper design of the static mixer is important.

Lead plated aluminum ring provides static high pressure seal for large diameter pressure vessel [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Lead plated aluminum ring provides a positive static seal for a large diameter pressure vessel for use in a hazardous environment at cryogenic temperatures with high pressure fluid flow.

Black holes, compact objects and solar system tests in non-relativistic general covariant theory of gravity

open access: yes, 2010
We study spherically symmetric static spacetimes generally filled with an anisotropic fluid in the nonrelativistic general covariant theory of gravity. In particular, we find that the vacuum solutions are not unique, and can be expressed in terms of the $
