Static and kinetic friction of rapeseed

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2007
he present paper examines the static and kinetic coefficient of friction of rapeseed. The project utilized two methods of determination of coefficient of friction of rapeseed: according Eurocode 1 (kinetic) in direct shear test and (static) in model silo.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The Static Frictional Behaviors of Rubber for Pipe-Laying Operation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Experimental research is carried out to reveal the static frictional behaviors of rubber pipe contact systems. This research is motivated by deep water pipe-laying operations where rubber blocks are used to clamp the pipe to supply sufficient static ...

Static and dynamic friction in sliding colloidal monolayers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In a pioneer experiment, Bohlein et al. realized the controlled sliding of two-dimensional colloidal crystals over laser-generated periodic or quasi-periodic potentials.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

STATIC FRICTION COEFFICIENT MODEL OF JOINT SURFACES CONSIDERING ASPERITIES INTERACTION AND SUBSTRATE DEFORMATION (MT)

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2023
A statistical model of static friction factor of joint surfaces was deduced, which was more in line with the actual situation and takes into account the interaction of asperities and the deformation of the substrate.

Frictional Response of Reinforced Polymers under Quasistatic and Fast-Transient Dry Contact Conditions

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
Reinforced polymers have recently gained interest because of their high stiffness associated with the classical features and cost-effectiveness of polymers.

Coupling between static friction force and torque

open access: yes, 2005
We show that the static friction force which must be overcome to render a sticking contact sliding is reduced if an external torque is also exerted. As a test system we study a planar disk lying on horizontal flat surface.

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...
