Thermodynamic Stability of Fenclorim and Clopyralid

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The present work reports an experimental thermodynamic study of two nitrogen heterocyclic organic compounds, fenclorim and clopyralid, that have been used as herbicides.

Quantum Monte Carlo study of high pressure solid molecular hydrogen

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
We use the diffusion quantum Monte Carlo (DMC) method to calculate the ground-state phase diagram of solid molecular hydrogen and examine the stability of the most important insulating phases relative to metallic crystalline molecular hydrogen.

Altered static and dynamic functional connectivity of habenula in first-episode, drug-naïve schizophrenia patients, and their association with symptoms including hallucination and anxiety

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2023
Background and objectiveThe pathogenesis of schizophrenia (SCH) is related to the dysfunction of monoamine neurotransmitters, and the habenula participates in regulating the synthesis and release of dopamine.

Static axion stars revisited

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
We consider static solutions to the spherically symmetric Einstein-scalar field systems with an axion potential known as axion stars, originally described by Guerra et al., JCAP (2019, 09 (09)).

Increasing stable operation of the working body in crank presses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2019
Introduction. Static and dynamic loading systems of the safety friction clutch (SFC) are investigated. A schematic diagram of the frictional contact of solids in the forging and stamping machines is synthesized.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The role of pressure anisotropy on quark stars in gravity’s rainbow

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
This work is seeking for the existence of stable quark stars (QSs) in the framework of a modified theory of gravity known as gravity’s rainbow. This modification comes from the fact that the geometry of spacetime depends on the energy of the test ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
