Retention properties of novel β-CD bonded stationary phases in reversed-phase HPLC mode
Talanta, 2009With the given special structures, the CD bonded stationary phases are expected to have complementary retention properties with conventional C18 stationary phase, which will be helpful to enhance the polar selectivity in RP mode separation. In this work, two beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) bonded stationary phases for reversed-phase HPLC, including 1, 12 ...

Retention of stevioside polar compounds on a sulfonic acid-functionalized stationary phase
Journal of Chromatography A, 2020To explore the retention and separation of stevioside polar compounds on a sulfonic acid-functionalized cation exchange column, the effects of different organic solvent-water mobile phases on the retention behavior of polar rebaudioside A (RA) and its analogues on the column were investigated over a wide range of organic solvent contents.

Some observations regarding different retention properties of HPLC stationary phases
Chromatographia, 1988The retention of 32 monocyclic aromatic compounds and 14 polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been studied on four different bonded phases in each of two mobile phases. An additional data set of 21 monocyclic aromatics judiciously chosen for their well-established solvatochromic parameters, 12 PAHs and 12 polychlorinated biphenyls (containing ...

Retention of the stationary phase for high‐speed countercurrent chromatography
AIChE Journal, 2007AbstractHigh‐speed countercurrent chromatography (HSCCC) is an emerging technique for preparative purification of a wide variety of solutes. Retention of the stationary phase is a crucial variable which is used for the derivation of the column efficiency, peak resolution, and solute retention.

Redox-modulated solute retention on iron–protoporphyrin–silica stationary phases
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1999Abstract Iron–protoporphyrin (FeProP)–silica phases suitable for immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography (IMAC) are examined with respect to the change in solute retention behavior induced by switching the redox state of the central metal ion from Fe(III) to Fe(II).

Characterisation of GC stationary phases in multilinear retention model
Chromatographia, 1998Stationary phases are characterised in a multilinear retention model by retention data of a set of selected prototypical substances. Prototypical stationary phases confirm the application of prototypical substances in the retention model. For comparison, 27 stationary phases are characterized with solute descriptors of the solvation model. New adjusted

AbstractZwitterionic hydrophilic interaction chromatography (ZIC®‐HILIC) was used to study the retention of selected organoarsenicals. The retention behavior of nine organic arsenic species on ZIC®‐HILIC was investigated to elucidate which is the driving force for their separation, hydrophilic partitioning or adsorption driven by hydrogen bonds with ...

Application of thermodynamic‐based retention time prediction to ionic liquid stationary phases
Journal of Separation Science, 2014First‐ and second‐dimension retention times for a series of alkyl phosphates were predicted for multiple column combinations in GC×GC. This was accomplished through the use of a three‐parameter thermodynamic model where the analytes’ interactions with the stationary phases in both dimensions are known.

Countercurrent chromatography (CCC) is a separation technique in which two immiscible liquid phases are used for the preparative purification of synthetic and natural products. In CCC the number of repetitive mixing and de-mixing processes, the retention of the stationary phase and the mass transfer between the liquid phases are significant parameters ...

Retention divergence of terpenes with porous graphitized carbon and C18 stationary phases
Journal of Chromatography A, 2012The significant divergence between the retention of 16 terpene standards on porous graphitized carbon (PGC) and C₁₈ packing materials are illustrated. The PGC surface is shown to provide a selectivity toward shape, polarity, and structure that is not afforded by the C₁₈ surface.
