Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1965 Statistical fluctuations in neutron and precursor distributions in a reactor are investigated in a continuous phase space. The theory is constructed on the basis of Ramakrishnan's product density and of the concept of “detectrons”. The basic equations for the product densities of degree 2 are derived and solved.
