Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

A New Generalized Exponential Distribution: Properties and Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2020
The exponential distribution is a popular statistical distribution to study the problems in lifetime and reliability theory. We proposed a new generalized exponential distribution, wherein exponentiated exponential and exponentiated generalized ...

Hydraulic Fracturing Mechanism of Rock Mass under Stress-Damage-Seepage Coupling Effect

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
According to the damage evolution model of rock mass under stress-seepage coupling effect, the representative element theory is employed to describe the change law of rock mesostructure.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Statistical Learning Theory for Distributional Classification

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence
In supervised learning with distributional inputs in the two-stage sampling setup, relevant to applications like learning-based medical screening or causal learning, the inputs (which are probability distributions) are not accessible in the learning phase, but only samples thereof. This problem is particularly amenable to kernel-based learning methods,

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Random walk of bipartite spins in a classicalized holographic tensor network

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
We consider the random walk of spin-zero bipartite spins in the classicalized holographic tensor network of the ground state of a strongly coupled two-dimensional conformal field theory.

The Calculation of Foundation Bed Reliability by Bearing Capacity (Shift) during Operation [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2014
New methods of foundation bed reliability calculations by the criterion of the shift when the base is under the influence of horizontal (shifting) forces are made. Initial statistical information is limited.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

A statistical theory for powder EPR in distributed systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1985
p, whose principal elements are random variables. The p and g tensors are not necessarily colinear. The observed EPR linewidth results from a distribution in the effective g value as a function of (a) the joint distribution function of the elements of the p tensor and (b) the spatial relationship between the two principal axis systems involved.
