The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

On the Power of Statistical Model Checking [PDF]
This paper contains material for our tutorial presented at STRESS 2016. This includes an introduction to Statistical Model Checking algorithms and their rare event extensions, as well as an introduction to two well-known SMC tools: Plasma and Uppaal.

Estimation of the Daily Variability of Aggregate Wind Power Generation in Alberta, Canada
This paper describes a hierarchy of increasingly complex statistical models for wind power generation in Alberta applied to wind power production data that are publicly available. The models are based on combining spatial and temporal correlations.

Statistical properties and statistical interaction for particles with spin: Hubbard model in one dimension and statistical spin liquid [PDF]
We derive the statistical distribution functions for the Hubbard chain with infinite Coulomb repulsion among particles and for the statistical spin liquid with an arbitrary magnitude of the local interaction in momentum space. Haldane's statistical interaction is derived from an exact solution for each of the two models.

Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Statistical Models with a Line of Defect
The factorization condition for the scattering amplitudes of an integrable model with a line of defect gives rise to a set of Reflection-Transmission equations.

On Model Selection with Summary Statistics [PDF]
Recently, many authors have cast doubts on the validity of ABC model choice. It has been shown that the use of sufficient statistic in ABC model selection leads, apart from few exceptional cases in which the sufficient statistic is also cross-model sufficient, to unreliable results. In a single model context and given a sufficient summary statistic, we

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Statistical Compressive Sensing of Gaussian Mixture Models
A new framework of compressive sensing (CS), namely statistical compressive sensing (SCS), that aims at efficiently sampling a collection of signals that follow a statistical distribution and achieving accurate reconstruction on average, is introduced ...

Multivariate Statistical Analysis: A Geometric Perspective [PDF]
A new, coordinate-free (geometric) approach to multivariate statistical analysis. General multivariate linear models and linear hypotheses are defined in geometric form. A method of constructing statistical criteria is defined for linear hypotheses. As a result, multivariate statistical analysis is developed in full analogy to classical statistical ...
