Minimizing Mutually Coupled Switched Reluctance Machine's Stator Volume by Stator Yoke Optimization

open access: yesBalkan Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2019
In parallel with the increased production of electric vehicles, the research on electric motors has become very popular. Switched Reluctance Machines (SRMs) have been widely preferred in these investigations. Mutually Coupled Switched Reluctance Machine (MCSRM) has higher torque performances than conventional SRMs have.

4‐nitrobenzoate inhibits 4‐hydroxybenzoate polyprenyltransferase in malaria parasites and enhances atovaquone efficacy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Atovaquone is an antimalarial requiring potentiation for sufficient efficacy. We pursued strategies to enhance its activity, showing that 4‐nitrobenzoate inhibits 4‐hydroxybenzoate polyprenyltransferase, decreasing ubiquinone biosynthesis. Since atovaquone competes with ubiquinol in mitochondria, 4‐nitrobenzoate facilitates its action, potentiating ...

Comprehensive fault ride-through scheme for doubly-fed induction generators

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
With the growth of wind energy penetration in electricity transmission grids, fault ride-through (FRT) ability is required in order to maintain the uninterrupted operation of wind farm in voltage disturbance scenarios.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
