Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Analysis of Methods for Leak Detection and Monitoring the Main Gas Pipeline Sections

open access: yesEnergy Engineering and Control Systems
The paper analyzes the existing methods for leak detection and monitoring the main gas pipeline sections. An extended classification of methods is presented based on the additional parameters: operating mode (steady-state, non-steady-state) and type of ...

Design of New Nonisolated High Gain Converter for Higher Power Density

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, 2023
A high gain nonisolated DC-DC converter using a single power semiconductor switch is proposed in this article. The operation of the proposed converter is explained under continuous conduction mode (CCM), discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), and boundary ...

Simulation and experimental study of uniformity of temperature field of electrically heated water

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban, 2022
With the aim of investigating the non-uniformity of the temperature field of electrically heated water in a horizontal stationary circular tube, we numerically simulated the axial and radial temperature fields in a horizontal circular tube using the ...

Statistical physics of power fluctuations in mode locked lasers

open access: yes, 2008
We present an analysis of the power fluctuations in the statistical steady state of a passively mode locked laser. We use statistical light-mode theory to map this problem to that of fluctuations in a reference equilibrium statistical physics problem ...

Dynamical creation of entanglement by homodyne-mediated feedback [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
For two two-level atoms coupled to a single-mode cavity field that is driven and heavily damped, the steady-state can be entangled by shining an un-modulated driving laser on the system [S.Schneider, G. J. Milburn Phys. Rev A 65, 042107, 2002].

Analysis of steady-state common-mode response in differential LC-VCOs [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2012
This paper analyzes the common-mode response of LC voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) in DC and periodic steady state regimes. The dependence of the common-mode voltage (vcm) on the oscillation amplitude is theoretically studied. Closed and simple expressions for vcm suitable for the VCO design and optimization are derived.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Predefined-Time Nonsingular Attitude Control for Vertical-Takeoff Horizontal-Landing Reusable Launch Vehicle

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents a novel predefined-time nonsingular tracking control system for a vertical-takeoff horizontal-landing (VTHL) reusable launch vehicle (RLV) in the face of parameter uncertainties, model couplings and external disturbances.

Conditional evolution in single-atom cavity QED

open access: yes, 2001
We consider a typical setup of cavity QED consisting of a two-level atom interacting strongly with a single resonant electromagnetic field mode inside a cavity. The cavity is resonantly driven and the output undergoes continuous homodyne measurements. We
