Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Energy flow model of distribution grids state estimation and optimization

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2017
This paper is devoted to a new approach to estimating operation mode parameters and their further optimization. The state estimation and optimization processes are based on a new mathematical model, which consists of energy balance equations.

Implementation and testing of steady-state operating mode of the radon chamber

open access: yes
The Slovak Institute of Metrology has developed a system for the metrological testing and calibration of instruments designed to measure the volumetric activity of radon. The system comprises the AiRneSt radon calibration chamber and RF-type dry flow sources containing ²²⁶Ra salts.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Homogeneous charge compression ignition steady state operation and mode switch with two-step cam and phasing system in metal and optical engine

open access: yes, 2013
Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) is a concept that has for years held potential for increasing gasoline engine efficiency while lowering emissions. HCCI allows efficient part load operation by inducing fast combustion despite high levels of

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

The Steady-State Performance Characteristics of Single Phase Transfer Field Machine Operating in the Asynchronous Mode

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Technology, 2012
The paper reports the derivation of the steady- state equivalent circuit of a single phase transfer eld (SPTF) machine operating in the asynchronous mode from which the performance characteristics could be predicted. The equivalent circuit of the machine was derived using the concept of double eld revolving theory cum symmetrical components.
