Steady state mode-locking of a 1.34 μm Nd:YVO4 laser using a single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber

open access: yes, 2011
Steady state mode-locked operation of a neodymium laser operating on the F-4(3/2) -> I-4(13/2) transition around 1.3 mu m is achieved for the first time using transmitting single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) saturable absorber.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Steady-state modeling of a phase-shift PWM parallel resonant converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Purpose - To derive an analytical model for a dc-ac-dc parallel resonant converter operating in lagging power factor mode based on the steady-state operation conditions and considering the effects of a high-frequency ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Typical Power Grid Operation Mode Generation Based on Reinforcement Learning and Deep Belief Network

open access: yes, 2023
With the continuous expansion of power grids and the gradual increase in operational uncertainty, it is progressively challenging to meet the capacity requirements for power grid development based on manual experience.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Modeling and Control of the Distributed Power Converters in a Standalone DC Microgrid

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
A standalone DC microgrid integrated with distributed renewable energy sources, energy storage devices and loads is analyzed. To mitigate the interaction among distributed power modules, this paper describes a modeling and control design procedure for ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Realization of minute-long steady-state H-mode discharges on EAST

open access: yes, 2017
In the 2016 EAST experimental campaign, a steady-state long-pulse H-mode discharge with an ITER-like tungsten divertor lasting longer than one minute has been obtained using only RF heating and current drive, through an integrated control of the wall ...
