Voltage profile program for the Kennedy Space Center electric power distribution system [PDF]

open access: yes
The Kennedy Space Center voltage profile program computes voltages at all busses greater than 1 Kv in the network under various conditions of load. The computation is based upon power flow principles and utilizes a Newton-Raphson iterative load flow ...

Minimal universal quantum heat machine

open access: yes, 2013
In traditional thermodynamics the Carnot cycle yields the ideal performance bound of heat engines and refrigerators. We propose and analyze a minimal model of a heat machine that can play a similar role in quantum regimes. The minimal model consists of a

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Hot ion plasma production in HIP-1 using water-cooled hollow cathodes [PDF]

open access: yes
A steady-state ExB plasma was formed by applying a strong radially inward dc electric field near the mirror throats. Most of the results were for hydrogen, but deuterium and helium plasmas were also studied.

Large-signal stability conditions for semi-quasi-Z-source inverters: switched and averaged models

open access: yes, 2013
The recently introduced semi-quasi-Z-source in- verter can be interpreted as a DC-DC converter whose input- output voltage gain may take any value between minus infinity and 1 depending on the applied duty cycle. In order to generate a sinusoidal voltage

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Modeling the non-reversible series-resonant converter operating in zero voltage switching mode

open access: yesEletrônica de Potência, 1996
This paper presents a steady state modeling of the non-reversible series-converter operating in Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) mode. This modeling is based on the representation in the state plane of the converter steady state operation.

Novel pressure stable thermoelectric flow sensor in non-steady state operation mode for inline process analysis in micro reactors

open access: yesProcedia Chemistry, 2009
AbstractIn this contribution results of the non-steady state operation of a novel pressure stable thermoelectric flow sensor chip for the inline chemical process analysis in micro reactors are presented. The sensor chip consists of a heater in between two thermopiles on a novel perforated membrane, thus liquid flows on both sides.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Large liquid rocket engine transient performance simulation system [PDF]

open access: yes
A simulation system, ROCETS, was designed and developed to allow cost-effective computer predictions of liquid rocket engine transient performance. The system allows a user to generate a simulation of any rocket engine configuration using component ...
