Video_1_Producing non-steady-state gaits (starting, stopping, and turning) in a biologically realistic quadrupedal simulation.MP4

open access: yes, 2022
Multibody dynamic analysis (MDA) has become part of the standard toolkit used to reconstruct the biomechanics of extinct animals. However, its use is currently almost exclusively limited to steady state activities such as walking and running at constant ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Validation of the VECTIS steady-state solver [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Wind speed measurements are obtained from anemometers located on research ships. Even though the anemometers are usually positioned in well-exposed locations the presence of the ship’s hull and superstructure distorts the airflow to the anemometer and ...

Feasibility study for improved steady-state initialization algorithms for the RELAP5 computer code [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A design for a new steady-state initialization method is presented that represents an improvement over the current method used in RELAP5. Current initialization methods for RELAP5 solve the transient fluidflow balance equations simulating a transient to ...

Gas turbine power calculation method of turboshaft based on simulation and performance model

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Gas turbine power of turboshaft engine cannot be measured, a total of five typical steady state point test data from the ground slow state to the maximum state were selected according to the factory acceptance test drive of a certain type of carrier ...

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Steady and unsteady simulation of Aerostabil windtunnel experiments

open access: yes, 2011
CFD-CSMcoupled simulations of the 2001/2002 Aerostabil windtunnel experiments, making use of a beam finite element model and RANS computations have not agreed satisfyingly with the experimental data.
