Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

High Absorption Thermal Blooming: Numerical Steady-State Simulation

open access: yes, 2023
A numerical simulation of steady-state thermal blooming with natural convection is introduced. Padé approximation of the steady flow solutions is applied in combination with a Newton solver to model propagation for lasers of increasing ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

The erosion of an ideal gully under steady state conditions

open access: yes, 2019
Gullies are responsible for as much as 40% of the accelerated sediment reaching the GBR, con-tributing to poor water quality and impacting the health and resilience of the Reef.

Video_2_Producing non-steady-state gaits (starting, stopping, and turning) in a biologically realistic quadrupedal simulation.MP4

open access: yes, 2022
Multibody dynamic analysis (MDA) has become part of the standard toolkit used to reconstruct the biomechanics of extinct animals. However, its use is currently almost exclusively limited to steady state activities such as walking and running at constant ...

AN EQUATION ORIENTED APPROACH TO STEADY STATE FLOWSHEETING OF METHANOL SYNTHESIS LOOP

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Engineering and Production Research, 2008
An equation-oriented approach was developed for steady state flowsheeting of a commercial methanol plant. The loop consists of fixed bed reactor, flash separator, preheater, coolers, and compressor.

Three-Phase Steady-State Model of Doubly Fed Induction Generator Considering Various Rotor Speeds

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
This paper presents a new unbalanced steady-state model of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) for the three-phase load flow analysis. The existing unbalanced DFIG steady-state model does not consider the effects of different rotor speeds. However, the

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Simulation of steady-state and dynamic behaviour of a tubular chemical reactor

open access: yes, 2011
The paper presents some results concerning analysis and simulation of steady-state and dynamic behaviour of a tubular chemical reactor. This analysis represents a necessary condition for the reactor control design purposes.
