Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Steady-state and tracking analysis of the SSLMS algorithm

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents expressions for the steady-state mean-square error (MSE), the optimum stepsize, and the corresponding minimum value of the tracking MSE of the sign-sign least mean square (SSLMS) algorithm for the case of real-valued data.

Simulation of steady-state cuttings transport through a horizontal annulus channel

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The current study is devoted to simulating cuttings transport by drilling fluid through a horizontal section of borehole with an annular cross section. Drill pipe rotates in fixed eccentric position. Steady-state flow is considered.

Application of single Hall chip in short circuit current detection of DC system

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
For the short circuit current test requirement of copper platoon at the entrance of a hybrid current-limiting fuse, the magnetic field distribution simulation model of copper platoon in both steady and transient current state were built. The influence of

Automated estimation and variance reduction for steady-state simulations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 18th conference on Winter simulation - WSC '86, 1986
We present an automated procedure that interfaces with SIMSCRIPT II.5 simulation experiments to derive point and interval estimators for steady-state parameters of stochastic simulations. The procedure combines the nonoverlapping batch means method of output analysis and the control variates variance reduction technique. Batch size and control variates

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Lap time simulation for racing car design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Racing teams use numerous computational tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) to aid in the design of racing cars and the development of their performance. Computer simulation of racing car handling through Lap Time Simulation (LTS) packages complements these tools. It

Steady-state performance analysis of a variable tap-length LMS algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A steady-state performance analysis of the fractional tap-length (FT) variable tap-length least mean square (LMS) algorithm is presented in this correspondence. Based on the analysis, a mathematical formulation for the steady-state tap length is obtained.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
