Some factors that influence the steady state in steady-state free precession
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1988Steady-state free precession (SSFP) and particularly the spatially periodic magnetization response with wavelength lambda that results in the presence of an applied gradient is discussed. The maximum SSFP magnetization does not always occur at the Larmor frequency but rather depends on both the phase cycling of the rf pulses and on the rf tip angle ...

AbstractPassing compilers through themselves is a well known technique whose major benefit is that any improvement in code generation will result in an improved compiler. Previous reports of work in this area have mentioned that it is possible to validate the compiler by running the compiler through itself a second time and comparing the resulting ...

ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 2018
Diffusion models and mean-field models have been used to approximate many stochastic dynamical systems. A functional strong law of large numbers or a functional central limit theorem justifies such an approximation. Such a result, however, does not justify the convergence of the equilibria of pre-limit systems to the equilibrium of a limit system.

In the one-dimensional approach, the case of pollutant injection and river behaviour that do not depend on time is frequently considered. The integration of the fundamental differential equation is simplified and gives rise to very useful expressions for an overall assessment of water pollution.

We discuss methods and results of calculations for hybrid magnet systems for extremely intense continuous magnetic fields. We focus on a system consisting of a 20 MW radially-cooled insert magnet of 33 mm bore and 406 mm outer diameter, operating within the bore of a 15 T superconducting magnet.

Steady/Steady State Mode Interactions
2000In this chapter we study mode interactions in the stationary reaction-diffusion equation $$G\left( {u,\lambda ,d} \right): = \left( {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {\Delta {u_1} + {f_1}\left( {u,\lambda } \right)} \\{d\Delta {u_2} + {f_2}\left( {u,\lambda } \right)} \\\end{array}} \right) = 0,\quad u: = \left( {{u_1},{u_2}} \right) $$ (12.1) in D 4 ...

Let us recall that the forced state is the behaviour of the oscillator when acted upon by an external force. The study of the forced state, in the general sense, is the subject of chapter 6. We will first consider a very important special case, that of the harmonic steady state, caused by a pure harmonic external force, after the disappearance of the ...

The Macroeconomics of a Steady State
Review of Social Economy, 1994The Macroeconomics of a Steady State Surprisingly little has been said by economists about the macroeconomics of modern environmental problems. Although such problems are seen by most economists as fundamentally microeconomic, there are dissenters. Herman Daly's (1991a; 1991b) formulation of a steady state economy is in response to what he sees as a ...

Waiting Phenomena at Steady State and Non-steady State Conditions
2009To calculate waiting times, queue lengths, and the number of vehicles in the system, it is possible to consider roundabout entry lanes as channels of an ordinary system examined by means of the mathematical queuing theory (Fig. 3.1).
