Characteristics of Steel Slag and Properties of High-Temperature Reconstructed Steel Slag

open access: yesMetals
The chemical composition, mineral composition, and mineral distribution characteristics of steel slag were characterized through petrographic analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and particle size analysis. Limestone, silica, and silicomanganese slag were blended with converter steel slag to fabricate a reconstructed steel slag.

Government Subsidies for Industrial Symbiosis: Is It Always Worth It? Assessing Effectiveness and Efficiency Through Agent‐Based Modeling

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Policy intervention can be a driver for industrial symbiosis (IS). However, given the wide variety of policy instruments available, policymakers should be guided in the policy design process to ensure that their intervention is effective and efficient. In this paper, we propose an agent‐based (AB) model intended to assess the effectiveness and

Internal Carbon Cycles in the Steel Industry: Pathways for CO2 Management and Carbon Capture Utilization

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
The steel industry accounts for about 7%‐9% of global CO2 emissions. While H2‐based direct reduction is a long‐term route, near‐term solutions are needed for existing plants. Internal carbon cycles reuse steelworks off‐gases and by‐products, enabling circular carbon use and supporting CCU integration.

Effect of carbide slag and steel slag as alkali activators on the key properties of carbide slag-steel slag-slag-phosphogypsum composite cementitious materials

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
In order to enhance the utilization of alkaline carbide slag (CS) and steel slag (SS) in solid waste-based cementitious materials (SWBCM). In this study, slag (GGBS) was utilized as the primary material, phosphogypsum (PG) as the sulfat activator, and carbide slag (CS) and steel slag (SS) as the alkali activators to prepare carbide slag-steel slag-slag-
