Extended derivations of MUSIC in the presence of steering vector errors

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2005
We present two extensions of MUSIC to the case in which the steering vector is imprecisely known and show that the extended methods lead to the same direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimates as MUSIC. This somewhat surprising result provides a more general motivation of MUSIC than those currently available and shows that MUSIC possesses a certain degree of ...

Analysis of Steering Vector Mismatch on Adaptive Noncoherent Integration

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013
Amplitude and phase errors can cause mismatches between the hypothesized signal vector and the steering vector of an antenna array. A generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) for signal detection with multiple coherent processing intervals (CPIs) in unknown interference is derived.

A Robust Beamforming Algorithm with Steering Vector Mismatch

2021 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2021
In order to effectively settle the issue of steering vector mismatch caused by non-ideal factors such as array element position disturbance and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation error, an improved chicken swarm optimization (ICSO) method is proposed to enhance the robustness of the beamforming algorithm.

Steering vector estimation in uncalibrated arrays

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1995
This paper presents an iterative algorithm for estimating the signal steering vectors and associated power levels received by an array of uncalibrated isotropic sensors. The inputs are assumed to consist of narrowband, uncorrelated directional signals in the presence of additive white noise. An iterative algorithm is employed to successively search for

Design of steering vectors for dynamically reconfigurable architectures

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing, 2008
An architectural framework is studied that can perform dynamic reconfiguration. A basic objective is to dynamically reconfigure the architecture so that its configuration is well matched with the current computational requirements. The reconfigurable resources of the architecture are partitioned into N slots.

Steering vector estimation and beamforming under uncertainties

2012 IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop (SSP), 2012
In this paper, we propose a new method for estimating the steering vector under uncertainties, which is utilized for improving the robustness of beamforming. We show that the desired steering vector can be estimated in closed form from a convex optimization problem by making use of the subspace principle.

Adaptive fuzzy beamformer to steering vector mismatch

2012 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communications Systems, 2012
This paper proposed an efficient beamformer to deal with the signal steering vector mismatches. The empirical results show that the significant performance degradation occurs when the signal steering vector for the desired signal is not known exactly. Thus, we design adaptive fuzzy beamformer, which adopt the method of fuzzy systems to modify the value

Array calibration and modeling of steering vectors

Conference Record of Thirty-Fifth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat.No.01CH37256), 2001
The use of structure in estimating covariance matrices has shown great promise for adaptive arrays when the data for estimating a covariance matrix is limited. When applied to adaptive beamforming or detection the result is a significant gain in effective signal-to-noise ratio when compared to unstructured estimates.
