Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Collisional Shaping of Nuclear Star Cluster Density Profiles

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
A supermassive black hole surrounded by a dense, nuclear star cluster resides at the center of many galaxies. In this dense environment, high-velocity collisions frequently occur between stars.

Dynamics of Stellar Collisions

open access: yes, 2000
I compare gas-dynamical and stellar-dynamical models of collisions. These two models have distinctly different physics; for example, shocks introduce irreversibility in gas systems, while stellar systems evolve in a completely reversible fashion. Nonetheless, both models yield broadly similar results, suggesting that analogies between gas and stellar ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Fractional Dynamics in Galactic Nuclei: Nonlocal Transport, Transient Phenomena, and the Nullification of the Schwarzschild Barrier

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We investigate the application of fractional calculus to model stellar dynamics, focusing on resonant relaxation (RR) near a supermassive black hole. Standard theories use the local Fokker–Planck (FP) equation, restricted to Gaussian processes under the ...
