Rotation‐Based Snap‐Fit Mechanical Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article introduces a rotational snap‐fit structure composed of a circular cantilever beam snap‐fit and a circular groove. It demonstrates multistability during the rotation process. This innovative design has potential applications in various fields, such as mechanical metamaterials, shape deformation, and robotic grippers, showcasing its ...

Anisotropic Jeans models of stellar kinematics: second moments including proper motions and radial velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This is an addendum to the paper by Cappellari (2008, MNRAS, 390, 71), which presented a simple and efficient method to model the stellar kinematics of axisymmetric stellar systems.

Circumnuclear Dust in Luminous Early-type Galaxies. I. Sample Properties and Stellar Luminosity Models

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Dusty circumnuclear disks (CNDs) in luminous early-type galaxies (ETGs) show regular, dynamically cold molecular gas kinematics. For a growing number of ETGs, Atacama Large Millimeter/sub-millimeter Array (ALMA) CO imaging and detailed gas-dynamical ...

Machine Learning‐Driven Surrogate Modeling for Optimization of Triboelectric Nanogenerator Design Parameters

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Design of Experiment and machine learning regression models are leveraged to analyze four process parameters (thickness, pore ratio, applied force, and frequency) of a contact‐separation triboelectric nanogenerator with graphene‐PDMS and aluminum layers using experimental data for the validation of predicted performance and the optimization of the ...

KINEMATICS AND STELLAR POPULATIONS IN ISOLATED LENTICULAR GALAXIES

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2015
By combining new long-slit spectral data obtained with the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) for 9 galaxies with previously published our observations for additional 12 galaxies we study the stellar and gaseous kinematics as well as radially resolved stellar population properties and ionized gas metallicity and excitation for a sample of isolated

Boon and Bane of Local Solid State Chemistry on the Performance of LSM‐Based Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Cation diffusion causes an increase in the catalytically active MIEC region in solid oxide cells. Simultaneously, it leads to the additional formation and growth of secondary structures in the electrolyte, which reduces the oxygen diffusion. Abstract High‐temperature solid oxide cells are highly efficient energy converters.

Stream Members Only: Data-driven Characterization of Stellar Streams with Mixture Density Networks

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Stellar streams are sensitive probes of the Milky Way’s gravitational potential. The mean track of a stream constrains global properties of the potential, while its fine-grained surface density constrains galactic substructure. A precise characterization

Template‐Assisted Growth of CsxFA1‐xPbI3 with Pulsed Laser Deposition for Single Junction Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Template‐assisted pulsed laser deposition (PLD) enables the growth of phase‐pure α‐CsxFA1‐xPbI3 perovskite films. Stoichiometric transfer and uniform coverage on planar and textured substrates is demonstrated, delivering reproducible single‐junction perovskite solar cells.

3-Dimensional Kinematics in low foreground extinction windows of the Galactic Bulge: Radial Velocities for 6 bulge fields

open access: yes, 2012
The detailed structure of the Galactic bulge still remain uncertain. The strong difficulties of obtaining observations of stars in the Galactic bulge have hindered the acquisition of a kinematic representation for the inner kpc of the Milky Way.

Late-type stars members of young stellar kinematic groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
We have compiled a catalog of late-type stars (F5-M) member of representative young disk stellar kinematic groups: the Local Association (Pleiades moving group, 20 - 150 Myr), Ursa Mayor group (Sirius supercluster, 300 Myr), and Hyades supercluster (600 Myr).
