Context. The environmental mechanisms driving unwinding spiral arms in cluster galaxies remain debated. While earlier studies attributed this phenomenon primarily to gravitational interactions, more recent works suggest that ram-pressure stripping (RPS ...

The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Impulsive Mixing of Stellar Populations in Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies
We study the response of mono-energetic stellar populations with initially isotropic kinematics to impulsive and adiabatic changes to an underlying dark matter potential.

Wrinkles in Time. I. Rapid Rotators Found in High-eccentricity Orbits
Recent space-based missions have ushered in a new era of observational astronomy, where high-cadence photometric light curves for thousands to millions of stars in the solar neighborhood can be used to test and apply stellar age-dating methods, including

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Jormungandr: A Large Substructure Circling the Milky Way Identified from Gaia DR3 Data
We report the discovery of a large substructure in the Milky Way passing through the solar neighborhood, detected in actions $\left({J}_{\phi },{J}_{{\rm{R}}}\right)$ calculated from Gaia DR3 data.

We report the discovery and characterization of a nearby (∼85 pc), older (27 ± 3 Myr), distributed stellar population near Lower Centaurus Crux (LCC), initially identified by searching for stars comoving with a candidate transiting planet from TESS (HD ...
