Core-envelope Decoupling Drives Radial Shear Dynamos in Cool Stars
Differential rotation is thought to be responsible for the dynamo process in stars like our Sun, driving magnetic activity and starspots. We report that starspot measurements in the Praesepe open cluster are strongly enhanced only for stars that depart ...

Machine Learning for Stellar Magnetic Field Determination [PDF]
Abstract In this work we present the results for the automatic determination of the mean longitudinal magnetic field in polarized stellar spectra through the analysis of spectropolarimetric observations. In order to determine this important parameter, we first developed a synthetic database encompassing a set of different stellar spectra, each one ...

Influence of surface stressing on stellar coronae and winds
STFC funding has supported this research. The large-scale field of the Sun is well represented by its lowest energy (or potential) state. Recent observations, by comparison, reveal that many solar-type stars show large-scale surface magnetic fields that ...

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Exploring the Small-scale Magnetic Fields of the Solar Analog KIC 8006161 Using Asteroseismology
The magnetic field is a significant and universal physical phenomenon in modern astrophysics. Small-scale magnetic fields are very important in the stellar atmosphere. They are ubiquitous and strongly couple with acoustic waves. Therefore, their presence

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Magnetic Field Monitoring of Four Massive A–F Supergiants
We report magnetic field measurements spanning about 15 yr of four massive (7.5–15 M _⊙ ) supergiant stars: α Per (HD 20902, F5Iab), α Lep (HD 36673A, F0Ib), η Leo (HD 87737, A0Ib) and 13 Mon (HD 46300, A1Ib).

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Searching for Low-mass Stars with Magnetically Induced Hyperinflated Radii
Precise empirical estimates of stellar radii have revealed that the radii of certain low-mass stars are inflated relative to stellar structure predictions: the largest inflations occur in magnetically active stars.
