Elastomeric Micro‐Balloons for Remote Control of Cerebral Blood Flow and Real‐Time In vivo Imaging of Rodent Brain Response to Hypoperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.

Covariance Spectrum of MAXI J1820+070: On the Nature of the Comptonizing Flow

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present an analysis of the covariance spectrum of the black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1820+070 during its hard state. For the first time, we extend coherence and covariance studies into the hard X-ray band up to ∼150 keV.

Self‐Assembled Monolayers in p–i–n Perovskite Solar Cells: Molecular Design, Interfacial Engineering, and Machine Learning–Accelerated Material Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the role of self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) in perovskite solar cells, covering molecular engineering, multifunctional interface regulation, machine learning (ML) accelerated discovery, advanced device architectures, and pathways toward scalable fabrication and commercialization for high‐efficiency and stable single‐junction and

Highly Coherent Quasiperiodic Oscillations in the “Heartbeat” Black Hole X-Ray Binary IGR J17091–3624

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
IGR J17091–3624 is a black hole X-ray binary (BHXB), often referred to as the “twin” of GRS 1915+105 because it is the only other known BHXB that can show exotic “heartbeat”-like variability that is highly structured and repeated.

Tidal disruption flares from stars on eccentric orbits

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
We study tidal disruption and subsequent mass fallback for stars approaching supermassive black holes on bound orbits, by performing three dimensional Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics simulations with a pseudo-Newtonian potential.

Relationship of Black Holes to Bulges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Supermassive black holes appear to be uniquely associated with galactic bulges. The mean ratio of black hole mass to bulge mass was until recently very uncertain, with ground based, stellar kinematical data giving a value roughly an order of magnitude ...

MOCCA Survey Database I: Dissolution of tidally filling star clusters harbouring BH subsystems

open access: yes, 2019
We investigate the dissolution process for dynamically evolving star clusters embedded in an external tidal field by exploring the MOCCA Survey Database I, with focus on the presence and evolution of a stellar-mass black hole subsystem. We argue that the

Beyond Earth: Resilience of Quasi‐2D Perovskite Solar Cells in Space

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In the article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202520433), Christoph Putz and co‐workers demonstrate rigid quasi‐2D perovskite solar cells operating in low Earth orbit, delivering stable power for more than 100 days under real‐space conditions. In‐orbit performance is correlated with extensive ground‐based thermal and proton‐irradiation studies on rigid and ...

The Redshift Evolution of the M •–M ⋆ Relation for JWST’s Supermassive Black Holes at z > 4

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
JWST has detected many overmassive galactic systems at z > 4, where the mass of the black hole, M _• , is 10–100 times larger than expected from local relations, given the host’s stellar mass, M _⋆ .
