Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Imprints of galaxy evolution on H ii regions Memory of the past uncovered by the CALIFA survey
H ii regions in galaxies are the sites of star formation and thus particular places to understand the build-up of stellar mass in the universe. The line ratios of this ionized gas are frequently used to characterize the ionization conditions.

SDSS J122958.84+000138.0: A Compact, Optically red galaxy [PDF]
We report a new compact galaxy, SDSS J122958.84+000138.0 (SDSS J1229+0001), which has unique morphological and stellar population properties that are rare in observations of the nearby universe. SDSS J1229+0001 has an $r$-band absolute magnitude (M$_{r}$)

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Stellar Properties of the Classical LBV R127 - Implications for Massive Stellar Evolution [PDF]
We present a new analysis of R127 (HDE 269858) - the classical Luminous Blue Variable in the LMC - during various phases of its spectral evolution over the past two decades, ranging from 9,000K to 28.000K. High quality CTIO, ESO and AAT spectroscopy are utilised to trace the variation in stellar properties for R127 with spectroscopic phase.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Stellar and Dust Properties of Local Elliptical Galaxies: Clues to the Onset of Nuclear Activity
We study the stellar and dust properties of a well-defined sample of local elliptical galaxies to investigate the relationship between host galaxy properties and nuclear activity.

Some Properties of Stellar Transition Regions [PDF]
Among the strongest lines from stellar transition regions are the resonance lines of N V (1240Å), Si IV (1394 ,1403Å), and C IV (1549Å), which are all observable by the IUE.In an earlier paper (Saxner, 198l) it was noticed that there is a correlation between the fluxes in these three lines. In Fig.

Stellar orbital properties as diagnostics of the origin of the stellar halo [PDF]
AbstractWe examine metallicities, ages and orbital properties of halo stars in a Milky-Way like disk galaxy formed in the cosmological hydrodynamical MaGICC simulations. Halo stars were either accreted from satellites or they formed in situ in the disk or bulge of the galaxy and were then kicked up into the halo (“in situ/kicked-up” stars).

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
