Planet-induced Stellar Pulsations in HAT-P-2's Eccentric System [PDF]
Extrasolar planets on eccentric short-period orbits provide a laboratory in which to study radiative and tidal interactions between a planet and its host star under extreme forcing conditions.

Self-consistent Nonlinear Classical Cepheid Pulsations during Stellar Evolution with MESA
We extend the time-dependent convection (TDC) treatment in MESA by introducing eddy-viscous dissipation. This software change brings MESA-TDC into closer alignment with the radial stellar pulsation (RSP) framework of the MESA-RSP module.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

White Dwarf And Pre-White Dwarf Pulsations
In this review I describe the basic properties of white dwarfs and their pulsations. I then discuss some of the areas in which the pulsations can provide meaningful results, such as internal chemical profiles, possible emission of >exotic> ...

The abundance of helium and stellar pulsation
Radial gradient of relative amplitude of the light variation FV for galactic classical Cepheids is found. The gradient has different signs for two cases: P > 8d and P < 8d. For P > 8d the gradient is negative. This gradient is caused by gradient of helium content in the primordial clouds, where Cepheids were born.

On the question of multimode stellar pulsations [PDF]

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

A nonlinear convective model for radial stellar pulsations
The physical and numerical ingredients of the Vienna nonlinear model for radially pulsating stars are presented. Stellar pulsations are investigated by solving the full system of radiation hydrodynamics including a time-dependent formulation of turbulent

Blue large-amplitude pulsators (BLAPs) are a recently discovered group of hot pulsating stars whose evolutionary status remains uncertain. Their proposed progenitors are either ≃0.3 M _⊙ shell H-burning stars or ≃1.0 M _⊙ core He-burning stars, both ...

The critical frequency in the Stellar pulsation theory [PDF]
AbstractThe standing oscillation in an isothermal semi-infinite plane-parallel atmosphere has a critical frequency. The significance of critical frequency in the stellar pulsation is discussed briefly. The critical period is calculated for the cepheid instability strip.
