A Chemically Peculiar Star Catalog from LAMOST DR12 Based on Deep Learning

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Chemically peculiar (CP) stars offer a unique observational sample for exploring key processes in stellar evolution. Leveraging the massive amounts of data obtained from large-scale sky surveys, deep learning technology has significantly advanced ...

The Sun as an X-ray star

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Stellar coronae are unresolved in X-rays, so inferences about their structure rely on spectral analysis. The Sun-as-an-X-ray-star (SaXS) approach uses the Sun as a spatially resolved template to interpret stellar spectra, but previous SaXS ...

The Radiowave Hunt for Young Stellar Object Emission and Demographics (RADIOHEAD): A Radio Luminosity–Spectral Type Dependence in Taurus–Auriga YSOs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Abstract We measure the radio continuum fluxes at the locations of all Gaia-confirmed members of Taurus–Auriga using Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array Sky Survey data (VLASS; 2–4 GHz, σ VLASS ~ 110–140 μJy, 2

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

MSTAT: A Python Tool for Estimating Spectral Types of Stellar Companions from Differential Photometry

open access: yesResearch Notes of the AAS
Abstract A python-based tool for reading the table of absolute magnitudes for dwarf (O-Y) stars as compiled by M. J. Pecaut & E. E. Mamajek and using this table to determine the most likely spectral type for a companion star has been developed.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

The Quintuplet cluster : I. A K-band spectral catalog of stellar sources

open access: yes, 2009
Context: Three very massive clusters are known to reside in the Galactic center region, the Arches cluster, the Quintuplet cluster, and the central parsec cluster, each of them rich in young hot stars.

A Catalog of Hα Emission-line Stars and 785 Newly Identified Young Stellar Object Candidates from LAMOST Based on a Deep Learning Method

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
The H α emission line commonly appears in the spectra of many stars and serves as a key indicator for tracing ionized interstellar gas, investigating stellar activity, and studying gas dynamics.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.
