A Robust Young Stellar Object Identification Method Based on Deep Learning

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Young stellar objects (YSOs) represent the earliest stage in the process of star formation, offering insights that contribute to the development of models elucidating star formation and evolution.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Examination of the relationship between spectral type and stellar rotational velocity in $$\sim \,$$50,000 single stars

open access: yesJournal of Astrophysics and Astronomy
In this study, we present the results of the relationship between spectral type (ST) and the projected stellar rotational velocity ($vsini$), utilising a sample of approximately 50,000 single stars across a range of evolutionary stages. The STs of the stars included in this study span a broad range, from O0 to M9.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Stellar Populations in the Transition Region of Nuclear Star Cluster and Nuclear Stellar Disc

open access: yes, 2022
The Milky Way nuclear star cluster (NSC) is located within the nuclear stellar disc (NSD) in the Galactic centre. It is not fully understood if the formation and evolution of these two components are connected, and how they influence each other. We study

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Evolution of Stellar Activity and Habitable Zone. II. Ca II H and K Emissions of Late-type Dwarfs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Stellar chromospheric activity serves as a valuable proxy for estimating stellar ages, though its applicable range and accurate functional form are still debated.

A New Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer Calibration of Stellar Mass

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We derive new empirical scaling relations between Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) mid-IR (MIR) galaxy photometry and well-determined stellar masses from spectral energy distribution modeling of a suite of optical–infrared photometry provided ...

Rotation periods of 12 000 main-sequenceKeplerstars: Dependence on stellar spectral type and comparison withvsiniobservations [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2013
Aims: We aim to measure the starspot rotation periods of active stars in the Kepler field as a function of spectral type and to extend reliable rotation measurements from F-, G-, and K-type to M-type stars. Methods: Using the Lomb-Scargle periodogram we searched more than 150 000 stellar light curves for periodic brightness variations.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
