Primary extranodal diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma: Molecular features, treatment, and prognosis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, Volume 3, Issue 3-4, Page 133-146, September-December 2022., 2022
One‐third of DLBCL arises from extranodal organs and is challenging to manage. Molecular features are critical to elucidate the differences in clinical features, predict the disease prognosis, and improve effective targeted therapeutic strategies. Abstract Diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common subtype of non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma and ...

P53 Activation Promotes Maturational Characteristics of Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Cardiomyocytes in 3‐Dimensional Suspension Culture Via FOXO‐FOXM1 Regulation

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Current protocols generate highly pure human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs) in vitro that recapitulate characteristics of mature in vivo cardiomyocytes.

Cholesterol content in cell membrane maintains surface levels of ErbB2 and confers a therapeutic vulnerability in ErbB2-positive breast cancer

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling, 2019
Background ErbB2 overexpression identifies a subset of breast cancer as ErbB2-positive and is frequently associated with poor clinical outcomes. As a membrane-embedded receptor tyrosine kinase, cell surface levels of ErbB2 are regulated dynamically by ...

Theurapeutic Effectiveness of Rat Bone Marrow Stem Cells in Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome Mice Model on Folliculogenesis, TGF-β, GDF-9 Expression, and Estrogen, TNF- and Androgen Levels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Objectives: to identify therapeutic effectiveness of Rat Bone Marrow stem cell in PCOS rats model on folliculogenesis, TGF-beta and GDF-9 expression and on estrogen, TNF-a and androgen levels.Material and Methods: this study is a laboratory experimental ...

Canonical Wnt signals combined with suppressed TGFβ/BMP pathways promote renewal of the native human colonic epithelium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: A defining characteristic of the human intestinal epithelium is that it is the most rapidly renewing tissue in the body. However, the processes underlying tissue renewal and the mechanisms that govern their coordination have proved difficult ...

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

Modeling mammalian gastrulation with embryonic stem cells [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Understanding cell fate patterning and morphogenesis in the mammalian embryo remains a formidable challenge. Recently, in vivo models based on embryonic stem cells (ESCs) have emerged as complementary methods to quantitatively dissect the physical and molecular processes that shape the embryo.

Sphingolipid Modulation Activates Proteostasis Programs to Govern Human Hematopoietic Stem Cell Self-Renewal. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Cellular stress responses serve as crucial decision points balancing persistence or culling of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) for lifelong blood production.

Polyfunctional CD8+CD226+RUNX2hi effector T cells are diminished in advanced stages of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Phenotypic continuum of NFU1‐related disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 2025-2035, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Bi‐allelic variants in Iron–Sulfur Cluster Scaffold (NFU1) have previously been associated with multiple mitochondrial dysfunctions syndrome 1 (MMDS1) characterized by early‐onset rapidly fatal leukoencephalopathy. We report 19 affected individuals from 10 independent families with ultra‐rare bi‐allelic NFU1 missense variants associated with a
