A STEP-NC Programming System for Prismatic Parts

Materials Science Forum, 2006
To comply with STEP-NC (ISO 14649), a new paradigm for NC programming, many computer systems involved in NC manufacture are required to reshape in both functionality and structure. This paper reports a feature-based NC programming system for prismatic parts to be machined using STEP-NC machine tools.

Research on the Standard for INC with a STEP-NC Extension

2007 Thirty-Ninth Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2007
This paper introduces and analyses the building of the INC standard with a STEP-NC extension based on the INC system theory. First it s does an introduction of the two sides of INC standard. And then the paper focuses on some important points which are relative to build up the INC standard.

Enabling Machining Vision Using STEP-NC

ASME 2012 International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference, 2012
STEP-NC is a new data format for manufacturing control. One of its applications is to enable integrated on machine measurement of machining processes using vision systems and other sensors. In this paper we describe the manufacturing process and manufacturing resource models in STEP-NC that can be used to enable this type of measurement.

An Advanced STEP-NC Platform for Additive Manufacturing

2017
Additive manufacturing processes, initially only reserved for the manufacturing of prototypes, now allow the manufacturing of high-value functional products with a wide range of materials. These processes can considerably change the process chain organization and therefore are growing interest in both academics and industrials.

Evolving From G-Code to STEP-NC

The paper discusses the principal factors driving the evolution of traditional G-code programming into the advanced STEP-NC method in the context of present-day manufacturing. While G-code has traditionally used for the direct control of CNC machine tools, its machine-specificity and non-associative, high-level data structures do not promote ...

STEP-NC to Complete Product Development Chain

2006
This chapter addresses the issue of product development chain from the perspective of data modeling and streamlining. The focus is on an emerging ISO standard, informally known as STEP-NC, and how it may close the gap between design and manufacturing for a complete, integrated product development environment.
