Stereo Matching Using Optic Flow
Summary: A method for the determination of pixel correspondence in stereo image pairs is presented. The optic flow vectors that result from the displacement of the point of projection are obtained and the correspondence between pixels of the various objects in the scene is derived from the optic flow vectors.

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...

HDM-Stereo: A Plug-and-Play Framework for Stereo Matching via Hierarchical Dynamic Matching
Stereo matching is a fundamental component in many computer vision systems. However, existing stereo matching networks typically construct cost volumes within a predefined disparity range, constraining their cross-dataset generalization and large ...

Event-based stereo matching using semiglobal matching
In this article, we focus on the problem of depth estimation from a stereo pair of event-based sensors. These sensors asynchronously capture pixel-level brightness changes information (events) instead of standard intensity images at a specified frame ...

Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Thermal Plasticity is Regulated by a Key MicroRNA During Range Expansion of an Invasive Fruit Fly
Populations at the invasion front of Bactrocera dorsalis adapt through reduced phenotypic and gene expression plasticity, a phenomenon likely to be driven by genetic assimilation. We identify a key miRNA‐mediated regulatory axis, in which miR‐276b post‐transcriptionally represses thw, a conserved chitin‐binding gene critical to the cold‐tolerance ...
