Solving the trophic puzzle: Host–parasite associations in Neotropical fig wasps associated with fig trees of section Americanae

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
We determined the trophic associations among fig wasp species associated with Ficus citrifolia by integrating gall morphology, the temporal sequence of wasp colonization, and oviposition behaviour. Dissection of galls produced by four gall‐inducing species at a late developmental phase enabled direct identification of occupants and inference of host ...

Peripheral blood mononuclear cell secretome from patients with autoimmune encephalitis promotes seizures in vitro

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is characterized by inflammatory processes in the central nervous system and frequently presents with seizures. Even though an ictogenic potential has been shown for some antibodies against neuronal surface antigens (NSAbs), AE pathophysiology is complex, and NSAbs‐independent mechanisms are likely to ...

Characterization of Unidirectional Aligned Discontinuous Fiber Reinforced Composites Containing a Toughened Epoxy Resin Produced Using the HiPerDiF Process

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 46, Issue 17, Page 16184-16199, 10 December 2025.
Alignment of discontinuous fibers using the HiPerDiF 3G machine. ABSTRACT Aligned discontinuous fiber reinforced composites (ADFRC) offer promising applications due to their manufacturability and tailorable mechanical properties. In this study, the high performance discontinuous fiber (HiPerDiF) technology is used to produce ADFRC consisting of 3 and 6

Impact of intrafraction fiducial tracking on planning target margins during prostate stereotactic body radiotherapy using Brainlab ExacTrac Dynamic with robotic couch correction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 26, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Background Planning target volume (PTV) margin reduction has been demonstrated to result in decreased acute genitourinary and gastrointestinal toxicity in patients treated with definitive stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for localized prostate cancer.

Pretreatment Clinical Variables Associated With the Response to Intravitreal Bevacisumab (Avastin) Injection In Patients With Persistent Diabetic Macular Edema

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب, 2010
Background: The purpose of the study is to determine whether the pre-treatment clinical systemic variables and optical coherence tomographic (OCT) findings are associated with the subsequent response to the intravitreal Bevacisumab (IVB) in eyes with ...

High‐Resolution 3‐Dimensional Micro‐CT Imaging of Intervertebral Discs Using a Novel Contrast Agent

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 8, Issue 4, December 2025.
This study introduces the first use of a contrast agent (potassium iodide) to enhance 3D imaging of the nucleus pulposus within an intact intervertebral disc (IVD). This method was used to demonstrate consistent 3D imaging of the nucleus pulposus across multiple animal models, including spine and tail IVDs.

Impact of Plastic Mulching on Microplastic Contamination in Mountainous Agricultural Soils

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) have extensively contaminated both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, yet their distribution and impacts in soil—both a source and a sink for MPs—remain poorly understood, particularly in remote agricultural landscapes.
