Heterocyclic steroids V. 2,4-diaza steroids

Steroids, 1964
Abstract A new route to methyl 17β-acetoxy-1,5-seco-2,3,4-trisnorestr-5-one-1-oate has been developed. This β-ketoester has been used for the synthesis of steroidal pyrimidines.

Novel heterocyclic steroidal amines

Journal of the Chemical Society D: Chemical Communications, 1969
Interrelated photochemical and thermal reaction sequences are outlined with novel stereochemical or other mechanistic features leading to derivatives of 6β,19-imino-5α- and -5β-cholestanes (I and II) and a range of aza-steroids such as (VIII) containing 2-methylpiperidine residues.

Total synthesis of heterocyclic steroids

J. Chem. Soc., Perkin Trans. 1, 1983
The total synthetic approach developed initially for natural steroids, and used for the preparation of A-nor compounds, has been extended to the preparation of novel heterocyclic steroids. The easily accessible 3,4-dinor-2,5-seco-9α-estrane-1,5,17-trione (9a) was treated with hydrazine hydrate, urea, and hydroxylamine hydrochloride to provide the 1 ...

Some steroid heterocycles via enamines

Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1969
Reactions of steroid enamines with suitably substituted aromatic aldehydes have been used to synthesize steroid derivatives with a heterocyclic system joined to C-2 and C-3. Enamines from 3-keto-steroids and o-hydroxybenzaldehydes yield steroid adducts which contain the fused benzopyran nucleus.

Preparation and androgenic activity of novel heterocyclic steroids

Experientia, 1970
2, 3-Dithia-5α-androstan-17β-ol-Acetat hatte ebenfalls hohe anabol-androgene Wirksamkeit.

STEROIDS: PART I. THE SYNTHESIS OF SOME HETEROCYCLIC STEROID DERIVATIVES

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1960
Cyanoacetamide reacted with 3β-hydroxy-16-hydroxymethylene-5-androsten-17-one to form 1-cyano-2-hydroxy-2(16′-3′β-hydroxy-17′-oxo-5′-androstenyl) propionamide or 3-cyano-4,5-dehydro-6-hydroxy-5,6(16′,17′-3′β-hydroxy-5′-androstenyl)-2-piperidone depending on whether a catalytic or a molecular amount of piperidine was used as the basic condensing agent.
