VIRTUAL TESTING OF STIFFENED COMPOSITE PANELS AT AIRBUS

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2010
The steady increase of composite parts in civil aircraft over the last three decades has recently been followed by a radical increase of weight percentage composites in the structure. In the most recent long range aircraft under development by both Boeing and Airbus, most major structure components, not only of the wings but also of the fuselage, now ...

Post-Buckling of Composite Panels with Isogrid Stiffeners

49th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference <br> 16th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference<br> 10t, 2008
The postbuckling behavior of isogrid stiffened panels is investigated by employing a flat triangular stiffened shell element. This element utilizes the Mindlin plate and Timoshenko beam theories to define the kinematics of the flat shell and the stiffeners of the element.

Design of a blade-stiffened composite panel with a hole

Composite Structures, 1991
A procedure is developed analytically to design and produce an optimized stiffened panel with a centrally located hole. The PASCO panel-buckling analysis and sizing code is employed with the Engineering Analysis Language (EAL) code for finite-element analysis to optimize the design variables. Important design considerations are stiffener height and ply

Multiscale reliability analysis of a composite stiffened panel

Composite Structures, 2014
Abstract A method for performing reliability analysis of a composite stiffened panel subjected to axial compression using the finite element method is discussed. Three-dimensional shell and brick element models are utilized for baseline response prediction, and comparison with experimental results.

Structural analysis of geodesically stiffened composite panels with variable stiffener distribution

2014
A computationally efficient analysis approach is developed to predict buckling load of geodesically stiffened composite panels under in-plane loads. The analysis procedure accounts for the contribution of the in-plane extensional and out-of-plane bending stiffnesses of the stiffeners through the use of Lagrange multipliers in an energy method solution.
