Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Dynamic buckling of laminated composite stringer stiffened CFRP panels under axial compression

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In this work, the dynamic buckling of stiffened panels is evolved numerically through a nonlinear incremental expression through making use of a specific time integration procedure via the finite element software program.

Concurrent optimization of stacking sequence and stiffener layout of a composite stiffened panel

open access: yesEngineering Optimization, 2018
This article is to optimally design laminated composite stiffened panels by optimizing both stacking sequences of the panel skin and stiffeners as well as the layout of stiffeners. Starting from initial designs of stiffener layout and stacking sequences for each stiffener and the panel skin, the problem is formulated with discrete and continuous ...

Perivascular Matrix Densification Dysregulates Angiogenesis and Activates Pro‐Inflammatory Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Perivascular matrix densification promotes the emergence of aberrant endothelial tip cells (ATECs) that invade and persist within fibrotic microenvironments. Using in vivo lineage tracing and a human microvessel model, this study shows that fibrous matrix cues destabilize VE‐cadherin–mediated junctions to gate TGF‐β signaling, inducing a pro ...

Developmentally Inspired Bioprinting of Nascent Multicellular Human Heart Tissue Through in Situ Differentiation and Morphogenesis of iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A developmentally inspired bioprinting approach enables the fabrication of pluripotent tissues that undergo shape‐morphing and in situ cardiac lineage specification. This method employs embedded bioprinting to deposit iPSCs within soft granular hydrogels to create pluripotent tissue constructs that undergo cell‐mediated shape morphogenesis.
