Defect Driven Electronic Structure Reconfiguration and Hierarchical Phonon Suppression in Ag2Se Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Indium substitution in Ag2Se nanocrystals simultaneously tailors electronic structure and lattice dynamics. Fermi‐level upshift and band‐gap narrowing enhance electrical transport, while defect‐induced lattice softening intensifies phonon scattering and suppresses lattice thermal conductivity.

Strategic design and numerical investigation of constant-mass AL-6XN steel and CFRP-based efficient protective structures under air blast loading

open access: yesNext Materials
The blast or explosion due to terrorist attacks or accidents significantly harms the expensive properties and people. The designing of efficient protective structures at constant mass against these blast loadings is a crucial task.

A Piezo‐Mimetic Ionic Hydrogel Harnessing Joint Motion for Cartilage Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A piezo‐mimetic ionic hydrogel converts mechanical deformation into bioactive ionic currents via stress‐induced asymmetric ion migration. Coupled with sustained Mg2+ release, this mechano‐electrochemical platform bridges mechanical loading and cellular signaling, enabling load‐adaptive stimulation and enhanced cartilage regeneration. ABSTRACT Articular

PIEZO1 is Required for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Progression and Leukemia Stem Cell Maintenance via HIF1A‐SLC7A11 Axis‐Mediated Ferroptosis Defense

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the mechanosensor PIEZO1 as a key factor in promoting acute myeloid leukemia progression and uncovers a ferroptosis defense system mediated by PIEZO1‐HIF1A‐SLC7A11 axis that is essential for leukemia stem cell maintenance. This ferroptotic defense system may represent a unique vulnerability for leukemia stem cells, providing a ...

Multi-scale analysis of marine carbon/glass hybrid composite top-hat stiffened panel structure for integrated design

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectiveAs composite material design and structural design are separated in the "dual track" state, this paper proposes an integrated design method for composite materials in order to improve the ultimate strength of marine composite structures. Methods

Active Vibration Suppression of Stiffened Composite Panels with Piezoelectric Materials under Blast Loads

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Transient responses of stiffened panels with piezoelectric sensors and actuators are studied under normal blast loads. The air vehicles could be exposed to blast pulses generated by an explosion or shock-wave disturbances.

Cholesterol‐Mediated Metabolic‐mechanotransductive Crosstalk Orchestrates Castration Resistance in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Full androgen deprivation (FAD) induces paracrine cholesterol in prostate cancer that drives the polarization of cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and subsequent elevated matrix stiffness. Matrix stiffness in turn potentiates tumor cell survival under FAD pressure via dual mechanotransductive activation of the IRE1α‐XBP1s stress‐response axis ...

Improvement and evaluation of polymer-matrix composite panels with hat stiffeners

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Hat-stiffened composite panels fabricated by co-curing technologies are widely used in the fuselage panel due to the good structural stability and high efficiency of axial load transferring.

Buckling of stiffened composite panels with stringer terminations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics of Materials and Structures, 2009
A meshless approach is developed and used to predict buckling of discretely assembled multibay composite panels made from skin and stiffeners. The effect of eccentricity is included in the formulation. Particular emphasis is given to stringer run-outs within a stiffened panel, where abrupt eccentricity can trigger very large transverse displacements of

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.
