Abstract A semianalytical method developed by the author for the analysis of bare plates has been extended to the static analysis of stiffened plates. Both concentric and eccentric stiffeners have been considered. Deposition of the stiffener eccentric to the plate gives rise to axial and bending displacements in the middle plane of the plate.

A Stiffened Plate Element Model for Advanced Grid Stiffened Composite Plates/Shells
Journal of Composite Materials, 2010A triangular composite stiffened plate/shell element is developed to analyze the advanced grid stiffened (AGS) structures based on Mindlin shear deformation theory. The rotations of ribs and skin are interpolated, respectively, while the conditions of displacement compatibility are satisfied along the interface of rib and skin.

The problem of the equilibrium of a plate reinforced with stiffeners
Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1999The authors consider the equilibrium of a loaded plate with rigid ribs. The existence of a generalized solution to the problem is proved, and nonuniqueness of solution to the nonlinear problem under consideration is discussed.
