A homogenization-based damage model for stiffness loss in ductile metal-matrix composites(Article) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The aim of this paper is to develop a homogenized model that permits to describe the progressive loss of stiffness observed experimentally on ductile metal-matrix composites subjected to mechanical loadings.

Formulating three triangular elements for plate bending [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی, 2010
This paper deals with the analysis of plate bending by the finite element method. Since vast findings have been achieved so far, advancing research in this area is very difficult.

A new methodology to calculate the equivalent stiffness matrix of the suspension structure with flexible linkages

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
The purpose of this work is to present a methodology for calculating the equivalent stiffness matrix of the wheel center of the vehicle suspension. For a suspension, the stiffness matrix of the wheel center, which is effected by the bushings and flexible

Spatial stiffness matrix from simple stretched springs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This work looks at the stiffness matrix of some simple but very general systems of springs supporting a rigid body. The stiffness matrix is found by symbolically differentiating the potential function. After a short example attention turns to the general

Dynamic stiffness of articular cartilage and potential repair materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cartilage has limited potential for self repair. Therefore, articular cartilage lesions often lead to early osteoarthritis. Early clinical results of cartilage replacement procedures such as autologous matrix-induced chondrogenesis (AMIC) seem promising,

Periostin and matrix stiffness combine to regulate myofibroblast differentiation and fibronectin synthesis during palatal healing

open access: yes, 2020
Although the matricellular protein periostin is prominently upregulated in skin and gingival healing, it plays contrasting roles in myofibroblast differentiation and matrix synthesis respectively.

Matrix stiffness regulates tumor cell intravasation through expression and ESRP1-mediated alternative splicing of MENA

open access: yesCell Reports, 2023
Summary: During intravasation, cancer cells cross the endothelial barrier and enter the circulation. Extracellular matrix stiffening has been correlated with tumor metastatic potential; however, little is known about the effects of matrix stiffness on ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Pin1/YAP pathway mediates matrix stiffness‐induced epithelial–mesenchymal transition driving cervical cancer metastasis via a non‐Hippo mechanism

open access: yesBioengineering & Translational Medicine, 2023
Cervical cancer metastasis is an important cause of death in cervical cancer. Previous studies have shown that epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) of tumors promotes its invasive and metastatic capacity.
