Testing the accuracy of using peroxidase activity to indicate stigma receptivity
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1987Stigma peroxidase activity was tested in flowers of Pedicularis canadensis and Clintonia borealis at discrete age-classes during the course of anthesis. For recipient flowers of each age-class pollen adhesion, rate of pollen germination, and total number of grains germinating on stigmas were scored following hand-pollination. In P.

Ethylene responsiveness in carnation styles is associated with stigma receptivity
Sexual Plant Reproduction, 2002Sensitivity to ethylene increases as flowers mature, and this is associated with autocatalytic ethylene production that initiates petal senescence. The coordination of the senescence process within the flower requires interorgan communication. To determine if differential ethylene responsiveness among floral organs is involved in regulating senescence ...

Pollen viability, stigma receptivity and seed set in Viola tricolor
2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011Pollen viabilities and stigma receptivities of 19 accessions in Viola tricolor were assayed by in vitro pollen germination and benzidine-H 2 O 2 method in this paper respectively. The seed set through hand-pollinate selfing was also investigated. The results showed that the pollen germination percent of V.

STIGMA RECEPTIVITY AND POLLEN VIABILITY STUDIES IN HYBRID PEARLMILLET KM2
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1999The pollen viability of pearlmillet fertility restorer line (K560 D230) was tested during two consecutive summer seasons. The vishility of pollen was judged in terms of seed setting on the male sterile line (MS 5141A). The pollination with fresh pollen and stored upto 2 hours resulted in good seed setting.

[Study on pollen viability and stigma receptivity of 5 Iris plants].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2009To increase the reproduction efficiency of Iris plants.Pollen viability, stigmatic receptivity, the color of anther and stigma of 5 Iris plants were observed during blooming.1. The highest pollen viability was in 4 hours after blooming; 2. The stigmatic receptivities of I. sichuanensis, I. leptophylla, I. lactea and I. goniocarpa were strong in 4 hours
