Growth Regulators Improve Outcrossing Rate of Diverse Rice Cytoplasmic Male Sterile Lines through Affecting Floral Traits

open access: yesPlants, 2022
Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) provides an irreplaceable strategy for commercial exploitation of heterosis and producing high-yielding hybrid rice. The exogenous application of plant growth regulators could improve outcrossing rates of the CMS lines by

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...

Integrating Patient‐Reported Quality Measures in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: Development of the American College of Rheumatology Implementation Guide

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To support high‐quality, patient‐centered care for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) developed evidence‐based measures incorporating clinical and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), we conducted semistructured interviews ...

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Ecological Adaptation Mechanisms Underlying Successful Plant Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During floral induction, various environmental and endogenous signals converge to regulate the florigen protein, which is transported from leaves to the SAM to initiate flowering. Within the SAM, a complex network of receptor kinases and small peptides orchestrates floral development with high spatiotemporal precision.

Effect of mother corm dimension and sowing time on stigma yield, daughter corms and qualitative aspects of saffron (Crocus sativus L.) in a Mediterranean environment

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2008
AbstractBACKGROUND: Saffron is one of the most appreciated and expensive spices known and has been used from the oldest times as a dye for fabrics, a condiment to enrich food and for medicinal purposes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of crop management methods on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the spice in ...

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.
