Leveraging genomic diagnostics for prognostics and therapeutics in pediatric acute leukemia

Abstract Advancements in the rapidity, cost efficacy, and sensitivity of next‐generation sequencing (NGS) have facilitated molecular risk stratification and precision medicine‐based treatment for pediatric leukemia. A protocol is summarized for the measurements of photoluminescence quantum yield in colloidal samples. We highlight the importance of the non‐standard statistics inherently present in quantum yield measurements and introduce a method for the analysis of these measurements serving as a reliability test.

PLK4 promotes centriole duplication by phosphorylating STIL to link the procentriole cartwheel to the microtubule wall

Centrioles play critical roles in organizing the assembly of the mitotic spindle and templating the formation of primary cilia. Centriole duplication occurs once per cell cycle and is regulated by Polo-like kinase 4 (PLK4).

Vulvar and vaginal cancer during pregnancy: A pooled analysis of 15 cases from the International Network on Cancer, Infertility and Pregnancy and review of the literature

Vulvovaginal cancer in pregnancy is rare. This pooled analysis of 15 INCIP cases and 83 cases from the literature highlights the underuse of nodal imaging, the value of multidisciplinary care, and shows that standard oncologic treatment can be safely adapted without compromising maternal or fetal outcomes.
