Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

On the combinatorics of iterated stochastic integrals

open access: yes
This paper derives several identities for the iterated integrals of a general semimartingale. They involve powers, brackets, exponential and the stochastic exponential. Their form and derivations are combinatorial. The formulae simplify for continuous or

On stochastic differential equations and a generalised Burgers equation

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we discuss a link of Itˆo’s stochastic differential equa- tions to nonlinear partial differential equations of Burgers type. Un- der certain conditions, we derive a generalised Burgers equation from a stochastic differential equation.

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Transience and non-explosion of certain stochastic Newtonian systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We give sufficient conditions for non-explosion and transience of the solution (xt,pt) (in dimensions >= 3) to a stochastic Newtonian system of the form { dxdt = ptdt dpt = -δV(xt)/δx dt - δc(xt)/δx dξt where {ξt}t>=0 is a d-dimensional Lévy process,

Droplet Electricity Generators With Maximized Energy Collection Zone Enabled by Aloe‐Inspired Midrib and Cuticle

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An Aloe‐pinspired droplet electricity generator (A‐DEG) overcomes the limited energy collection zone of conventional DEGs by guiding impact droplets through a channeling midrib and artificial cuticle. The channeling midrib induces uni‐directional droplet spreading, while the artificial cuticle on the midrib further reinforces this behavior through its ...

Fractional Mean-Square Inequalities for (P, m)-Superquadratic Stochastic Processes and Their Applications to Stochastic Divergence Measures

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In this study, we introduce and rigorously formalize the notion of (P, m)-superquadratic stochastic processes, representing a novel and far-reaching generalization of classical convex stochastic processes.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

A quantitative CLT on a finite sum of Wiener chaoses and applications to ratios of Gaussian functionals

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In this paper we provide a new explicit bound on the total variation distance between a standardized partial sum of random variables belonging to a finite sum of Wiener chaoses and a standard normal random variable. We apply our result to derive an upper

Path‐Decoupled Cation‐Eutaxy III–V van der Waals Memristive Semiconductors for Mitigating the Neuromorphic Accuracy‐Energy Trade‐off

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Path‐decoupled III–V van der Waals memtransistors spatially separate ionic and electronic transport to overcome the conventional trade‐off between accuracy and energy in neuromorphic hardware. Mobile K+ ions in the vdW gaps set a wide conductance window, Gmax/Gmin, while gate‐tunable hole conduction lowers programming energy, enabling reliable ...
