Almost periodic mild solutions for stochastic delay functional. differential equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion [PDF]
In this paper we investigate the existence and stability of quadratic-mean almost periodic mild solutions to stochastic delay functional differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H > 1/2 , under some suitable ...

Stochastic Modelling of Turbulent Flows for Numerical Simulations
Numerical simulations are a powerful tool to investigate turbulent flows, both for theoretical studies and practical applications. The reliability of a simulation is mainly dependent on the turbulence model adopted, and improving its accuracy is a ...

Stochastic fluctuations in apoptotic threshold of tumour cells can enhance apoptosis and combat fractional killing [PDF]
Fractional killing, which is a significant impediment to successful chemotherapy, is observed even in a population of genetically identical cancer cells exposed to apoptosis-inducing agents.

Modeling of Infantry Attacks on Real Terrain
. The estimation of the terrain features can be completely carried out by using the Geographical Information System (GIS). GIS technologies and three-dimensional map in planning battle tactics are discussed. An infantry attack on real terrain is modeled.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Modelling stochastic correlation [PDF]
This work deals with the stochastic modelling of correlation in finance. It is well known that the correlation between financial products, financial institutions, e.g., plays an essential role in pricing and evaluation of financial derivatives. Using simply a constant or deterministic correlation may lead to correlation risk, since market observations ...
