Intraday Functional PCA Forecasting of Cryptocurrency Returns

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the functional PCA (FPCA) forecasting method in application to functions of intraday returns on Bitcoin. We show that improved interval forecasts of future return functions are obtained when the conditional heteroscedasticity of return functions is taken into account.

Long‐Term Trends and Projections of the Global Epilepsy Burden: Insights From the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021

open access: yesHealth Care Science, EarlyView.
Targeted interventions addressing socioeconomic inequalities and health service disparities are essential for mitigating future epilepsy burdens, especially in low‐resource settings. ABSTRACT Background Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder imposing significant global health burdens. A comprehensive understanding of its temporal and spatial trends

A multilevel perspective on MSH6‐associated Lynch syndrome: Integrating molecular, biological, and clinical insights

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Lynch syndrome (LS) is the most common hereditary colorectal cancer syndrome, caused by a germline pathogenic variant in one of the mismatch repair (MMR) genes. Among these, MSH6‐associated LS represents a distinct subtype with unique molecular and clinical characteristics.

Epigenetic Markers of Cell Division and Ageing in Relation to Breast Cancer Survival

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Breast cancer remains a major challenge to public health. Biomarkers may be useful to improve prediction of breast cancer survival. Several epigenetic markers of cell division and ageing based on DNA methylation have been proposed. In this study, we measured these epigenetic markers in breast tumours and assessed their prognostic value.

Metabolic feature profiling and metabolic vulnerability in acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
For the first time, our study develops a novel metabolic classification and subtyping program, metabolic reprogramming‐based classifier for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, using internal PDT‐ALL‐2016 and external cohorts, which dissects metabolic profiling, clinical outcome, and therapeutic vulnerability for precision metabolic intervention in ALL ...

Bayesian Model Averaging in Causal Instrumental Variable Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Instrumental variables are a popular tool to infer causal effects under unobserved confounding, but choosing suitable instruments is challenging in practice. We propose gIVBMA, a Bayesian model averaging procedure that addresses this challenge by averaging across different sets of instrumental variables and covariates in a structural equation ...

Random Chemostats with Competition and Different Kinetics to Investigate the Growth of the Gut Microbiome

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate some chemostat models incorporating wall growth, competition, random fluctuations on the dilution rate, and different consumption functions (Monod and Haldane). We analyze the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the corresponding random differential systems to establish conditions on the model parameters under which the ...

Myasthenia Gravis and Thymoma

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thymoma is the most common tumor of the anterior mediastinum. Approximately 20%–30% of patients with a thymoma develop myasthenia gravis (MG), and an additional one third may possess positive acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies without MG.
