Gut Bacteria Improve Depressive Symptoms by Degrading Cortisol into Androgen
Chronic stress is an important risk factor for stress‐related disorders such as depression. Stress hormone cortisol is essential for the pathogenesis of stress‐related disorders such as depression. Some gut microbiota degraded cortisol, and improve depressive symptoms.

Stabilized Ion Selectivity Corrects Activation Drift in Kalium Channelrhodopsins
As newly emerged optogenetic tools, potassium channelrhodopsins (KCRs) can drift from inhibition to activation during illumination as K⁺ selectivity declines. It is shown that both the absolute K⁺/Na⁺ permeability ratio and its stability over time govern this drift, identify KCR1‐C29D as a reliably inhibitory variant, and outline design principles for ...

This study shows that lower NAM levels in PE‐derived pEVs correlate with disease severity. NAM‐deficient pEVs reduce Th1 and Th17 inhibition, leading to PE‐like symptoms. NAM in pEVs inhibits Th1 via SIRT1 and Th17 via macrophages. Reduced NAM in PE‐EVs is due to decreased HRS expression in trophoblasts, resulting from elevated HSP27.

Norwegian Sea Herring Stock Discrimination phase I (NORDISI)
There is growing concern among fishermen about the migration of North Sea herring into the Norwegian Sea. The Pelagic Freezer-trawler Association therefore commissioned IMARES to develop a technique to monitor possible catches of North Sea herring in the Norwegian Sea.

Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Morphometric discrimination of pelagic fish stocks challenged by variation in body condition
Abstract Morphometric characters have traditionally been used to describe the population structure of fishes. Body shape variation, which is often environmentally induced, may provide a good record of short-term population structuring.
