The Effects of Stocking Density on Broiler Performance
The performance traits of broilers reared in different stocking density groups were investigated. Data were obtained from 910 broilers housed in litter-type pens at densities of 12.5 (1), 15 (2), 17.5 (3) and 20 (4) broilers/m2. Each pen had 14 m2 floor space.

Broiler Performance at Different Stocking Densities
Abstract In three experiments, Peterson x Hubbard broilers were reared at different stocking densities (SD) in an environmentally controlled (cool cells) house in Yucatan, Mexico. Males were housed until 7 wk of age at: 10, 12, and 14 birds/m2 in Experiment 1: 14,15, and 16 birds/m2 in Experiment 2; and 17, 17.5, and 18 birds/m2 in Experiment 3.

Effect of stocking density on pig production [PDF]
Numerous stressors such as environmental, nutritional, pathological or equipment related ones are operative in swine facilities. Among many factors, socking density increases social stress and influences pig performance. Many studies have reported that reducing space allowance could induce decreases in growth performance of pigs.

Carbon stocks in tropical forests decrease with liana density [PDF]
Tropical forests are experiencing structural changes that may reduce carbon storage potential. The recent increase in liana abundance and biomass is one such potential change. Lianas account for approximately 25 per cent of woody stems and may have a strong impact on tree dynamics because severe liana infestation reduces tree growth and increases tree ...

High Stocking Density Controls Phillyrea Angustifolia in Mediterranean Grasslands [PDF]
Extensive grazing applied in the form of low instantaneous pressure over a long period is a widespread management practice in protected areas. However this kind of stocking method does not always achieve the expected results, in particular because it fails to limit colonization by woody plants. This is the case in the relict xero-halophytic grasslands ...

Stocking Density and Homogeneity, Considerations on Pandemic Potential
Zoonotic pathogens, an increasing threat to human health, typically originate in the wild but spill over to humans from domestic animals because of the high contact with them. Industrial farming involves an increased number of animals of a single species per given area. Such high stocking density facilitates pathogen transmission. This speeds evolution

Estimates of stocking density of female geese in different growth stages
SUMMARY: A high stocking density can have a negatively effect on growth performance, walking ability, and antioxidant capacity of poultry. In geese production, multiple-phase feeding strategy is generally adopted when considering the long raise period ...
