Global research trends in signaling pathways of spasmolytic polypeptide-expressing metaplasia pathogenesis: a bibliometric analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundSignaling pathways associated with spasmolytic polypeptide-expressing metaplasia (SPEM) pathogenesis play a critical role in disease development, particularly in gastric cancer precursor lesions.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Dietary Intake of Fatty Acids, Total Cholesterol, and Stomach Cancer in a Chinese Population. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
To investigate the associations between dietary fatty acids and cholesterol consumption and stomach cancer (SC), we analyzed data from a population-based case-control study with a total of 1900 SC cases and 6532 controls.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Physiological antioxidant system and oxidative stress in stomach cancer patients with normal renal and hepatic function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Role of free radicals has been proposed in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Gastric cancer is a common disease worldwide, and leading cause of cancer death in India.

Pancreaticogastrostomy: Effect of Partial Gastrectomy on the Pancreatic Stump in Rabbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
To assess the influence of digestive juice on the pancreatic stump when pancreaticogastrostomy was performed after pancreatoduodenectomy, the pancreatic stump was anastomosed to the intact stomach (group I), the stomach after partial gastrectomy (group ...

Unusual Surgical Repair of Bronchoesophageal Fistula Following Esophagectomy

open access: yesDiagnostics
Radical esophagectomy remains the only potentially curative option in the treatment of esophageal cancer. However, this procedure is burdened with high morbidity and mortality rates, even in high-volume centers.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
