JAK2 Variant and Parkinsonian Syndromes: Coincidence or Pathophysiological Link?

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background JAK2 variants are a hallmark of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), including polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia. These disorders are often associated with thrombotic and inflammatory complications. From a movement disorder perspective, chorea is a rare but well‐recognized neurological occurrence in this context ...

Hsp90 Inhibition on the Western Blot: N‐Terminal Versus C‐Terminal Inhibitors in Breast Cancer

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is an established and clinically validated anticancer target. By regulating the folding and maturation of diverse client proteins, it is indirectly involved in carcinogenesis. Key breast cancer oncogenic drivers, including estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, are ...

In‐frame variants in TP53 gene identified in adult leukemia samples are predominantly deleterious: a study of the TP53 Network of Education and Research Initiative on CLL

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract The prognostic and predictive impact of TP53 variants in leukemia led to their inclusion in diagnostic and treatment guidelines, increasing the demand for rapid, reliable laboratory analysis, interpretation, and reporting. While most TP53 variants identified in tumor samples can be interpreted using data from large‐scale functional studies ...

Sodium Ions Affect GPR17 Conformational States and Functionality

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sodium is an allosteric modulator of several class‐A GPCR regulating active versus inactive conformation state and may be a critical issue for the optimization of crystallization procedures. Herein, the role of Na+ in the regulation of GPR17 conformational states was studied through MD simulations of GPR17 wild‐type and mutated on two ...

Identifying resistance‐conferring cytochrome P450s in weeds: experimental strategies and practical considerations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Identifying resistance‐conferring cytochrome P450s requires integrating weed characterization, gene discovery and functional validation. No single approach is sufficient to distinguish causal resistance genes from herbicide‐metabolizing enzymes. Abstract Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s) play a pivotal role in metabolic herbicide resistance, yet ...

Programmable 3D Microfluidics Reveals Motility‐Driven Antibiotic Resistance Evolution in Gradients

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Using a programmable microfluidic platform, this study shows that bacterial motility is crucial for resistance development in heterogeneous antibiotic landscapes. Motile Escherichia coli randomly migrates along antibiotic gradients, and sufficient movement is required for resistance to emerge.
